Have you met the man behind Ecoya?

When the soft scent of Wild Frangipani or French Pear waif through your home or the quiet calm of Vanilla Bean or Lotus Flower overcomes you, do you wonder how ECOYA came about?

Craig Schweighoffer is the man behind ECOYA.  A combination of the words, Ecological and Soya, the new brand was born to bring you a range of Eco-Luxe products.

ECOYA was nurtured on the shores of Botany Bay, the very same shores where in 1770, Joseph Banks catalogued the 100's of rich botanicals of the area. It was because of Banks' persistence that the first landfall in Australia was aptly named Botany Bay. And today, from our home in Mangrove Lane, we craft products to send from here all over the world.

I have to admit that there is no hardship in this as much of Botany Bay still flourishes, as it did 240 years ago. We like this about where we live, which is why so many natural waxes and sustainable materials feature in what we do.  And while we realise there is a bit of a 'green boom' going on at present, we are doing this more because we just can't get our head around why would you want to do things any other way.

Save the Scent

Candles add character, charm and ambiance to any room or situation. They soothe and calm the air around us all. So, how do we hold on to that scent? How do we keep our favourite candle for as long as possible? Try these tips below and your Ecoya scented candle will keep your home or office smelling great.

When you light the candle, let it burn for three hours at a time. This allows the scent to permeate the room and envelop you and your surroundings in the scent of your choice.   The wick should always be trimmed to 3mm to get the most efficient and effective burn.

When you opt to put the candle out, use a snuffer instead of blowing it out. By using a snuffer, you decrease the amount of smoke let into the air. This allows the candle to cool faster and save the wax and scent. Your favourite Ecoya candle stays just as fresh and last that much longer! Additional tip - Check your local homewares store for a snuffer! They will have great options and you will probably find one that matches your candle holders.
